Guy Crittenden wins 2014 Virginia Duck Stamp Competition

by Guy Crittenden March 25, 2014

The Virginia Ducks Unlimited state convention was held on March 22, 2014 at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, where it was announced that the winner of this year's Virginia Migratory Waterfowl Stamp competition is artist Guy Crittenden of Richmond.  The striking art depicts a pair of Canvasback ducks gracefully gliding on autumn waters with cattails in the foreground.  The Canvasback has long been one of the most regal and treasured species that make the Chesapeake Bay its winter home.  The design will be featured on the 2014-15 Virginia Migratory Waterfowl Stamp.  This is Guy's fourth win in the coveted competition.  Guy won the "First of State" Mandatory Duck Stamp contest in 2005, and followed that with wins in 2007 and 2010.  For more information on Mr. Crittenden's Duck Stamp prints, visit the website or contact the artist via e-mail directly.
