This original oil painting was created from a "Plein Air" session in Bath County, Virginia. This particular stretch of the Jackson River was near Bacova Junction and I completed this piece in one sitting on a beautiful summer morning. There was a slight mist over the river, giving the scene a soft, backlit glimmer. I wanted to capture that with an impressionistic quality to the paint and brush.
This piece is a 16 x 20 flat panel hardboard, and is framed in an antique silver. Currently hanging at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, Virginia. Available at $1,800.
