This is a small plein air study of a barn near Stuart's Draft just west of the Afton Pass. The afternoon sun warms the landscape and the rich orange red of the barn and golden grasses. Cows mingle about the barnyard. The simplicity of the composition as well as the rich colors drew me to paint this charming little corner of the Shenandoah Valley. This oil on board is 12 x 12 and is framed in a plein air gold frame. Sold for $750.
