Deep in the Mountains of Bath County, Virginia, there is a perfect little mountain brook called Cascades. The property is owned by the Homestead Resort, and you can hike the trail that follows the brook for about a mile. There are many little falls along the trail, and this painting is a study of one of those perfect little whitewater pools, framed by the spruce and elm that catch the afternoon light. This piece is framed in traditional plein air gold. It is priced at $650.
