"Spring Creek" - Blue Heron - SOLD

This is a plein air painting I completed in one sitting in the spring of 2021. I was on my dock on a creek off the Mattaponi River in eastern Virginia and I liked the composition and light of this view that I have seen hundreds of times, but in the late spring around the middle of May, this quiet little corner was teeming with life. The late afternoon light was striking and a curious, but unafraid Blue Heron stopped by for a spell. This piece is 16 x 20 and is framed in an antique silver. Available for $1,500.
