This is image was picked as the winning entry in the 2014 Connecticut Waterfowl Stamp competition. Virginia artist Guy Crittenden chose a trio of Northern Shovelers standing in the shallows in an interesting composition featuring the beautiful feathering of the two drakes and the unique head and bill profiles of these North American puddle ducks. "I have always loved the colors of these curious looking birds. You will find these ducks on open marshes and feeding the the shallows of fresh water impoundments along the Eastern Seaboard." Crittenden Studio has published a limited edition series of 500 collector prints and is offering them for sale through this website. This striking collector print will be available exclusively through the Crittenden Studio website, or through dealers in Connecticut.
